Frequently Asked Questions

Worship at Crosspoint Lutheran Church follows the historic Lutheran liturgy and is centered on God’s Word and Sacraments. Our pastors preach and teach from the Bible, which we believe to be God’s true and faithful Word and the source and guide for our faith and life.
As a congregation of The Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod (LCMS), the good news of Jesus Christ is at the heart of our worship. Although we are sinners who fall short, God gives forgiveness, life, and salvation through Jesus Christ to all who believe.
Our services include Scripture readings, confession and absolution, prayer, hymns, preaching, and Holy Communion. Our liturgy has a rich biblical and Lutheran history and is designed to keep the focus on Christ and what He has done for us.
If this style of worship is unfamiliar to you, don’t worry. Everything you need to follow the service is provided, and you are welcome to participate as much as you feel comfortable.
Crosspoint has no dress code. You are welcome to come in whatever makes you feel comfortable. You’ll see some people dressed more traditionally for Sunday worship and others dressed casually.
If you’re worried about standing out, a good rule of thumb is simply to wear what you might wear to a nice meal with family. What matters to us is that you’re here, not what you’re wearing.
Holy Communion is an important part of our worship at Crosspoint. We believe that Christ’s true body and blood are present in the Lord’s Supper, given with the bread and wine for the forgiveness of sins and the strengthening of our faith.
In keeping with the beliefs and practice of the LCMS, Crosspoint practices Communion weekly. If you are visiting and are not currently a member of an LCMS congregation, we ask that you speak with our pastor before receiving Communion.
This isn’t meant to make visitors feel unwelcome. Because receiving Communion is also a confession of our shared faith, our pastor would be glad to talk with you about what we believe and answer any questions you may have.
Sunday School begins at 9:45 am, with Bible-based teaching designed to help children and youth grow in their knowledge of Scripture and their faith in Christ. During the worships service itself, children stay with their parents.
If you have a baby or young child who needs a little extra space during the service, we have a comfortable cry room available where you can still hear the sermon and stay connected to the service.
The safety of every child is important to us. Please download our Children’s Safety Guidelines PDF to learn more about the policies and procedures we have in place to help provide a safe and welcoming environment.
No. Our members love welcoming new faces, but we don’t want visitors to feel uncomfortable or put on the spot.
Our greeters and ushers will be available to welcome you, answer questions, and help you find your way around. You will not be asked to stand or introduce yourself in front of the congregation.
You are welcome to participate as much as you feel comfortable, or simply observe and get to know Crosspoint during your first visit.
If you are visiting Crosspoint, please feel no pressure to give. We hope our worship service is a blessing to you and that God uses our congregation to serve you through His Word.
The ministries and mission of Crosspoint are supported through the generosity of our members. Our offerings help support the teaching of God’s Word, the work of our congregation, missions, and care for people in need.
Crosspoint Lutheran Church is a congregation of The Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod (LCMS).
We believe the Bible is the inspired and authoritative Word of God. As Lutherans, we confess that salvation is entirely God’s gift. We are saved by grace alone through faith alone because of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Our Lutheran beliefs shape our worship, preaching, teaching, understanding of Baptism and Holy Communion, and the way we seek to live together as God’s people.
